Being Shallow
ChrisW and I were at Salsa 101 on Saturday.
Since it was supposed to be a glitzy event, a lot of people were dressed up (not me though, coz I was there early for the workshops and didn’t feel like spending 5 hours plus in a fancy outfit and heels). So I was comfortably underdressed in my jeans, pink top, and jazz shoes 
So anyway, we were lamenting on the fact that there are so few good-looking Malaysian males for us to feast our eyes on while there are so many more hot-looking babes for the guys to salivate over. Being rather bored at that moment, we decided to be really superficial and made up a game where we were to spot at least 10 good-looking males at that event.
ChrisW : Oh, Mr. A is quite ok. Good physique and pleasant-looking.
Me : Hmmm… yeah, I agree. He’s No. 1.
We continued male-watching. And watching. And watching.
Me : Eh, we’re still stuck at No. 1.
ChrisW : Yah man, this is sad. I’ve already filled my list of 10 hot-looking babes.
At that point, we were standing outside the ballroom. We decided to head into the ballroom coz the main event was starting.
ChrisW : That gwailo there is not bad as well.
Me : Eh, are we counting Mat Sallehs too?
ChrisW : Ya la, any good-looking male here, regardless of race.
Me : Oh, ok. Hhhmmm… ok la, can pass. He’s No. 2. Oh, I can think of No. 3 but I can’t see him around. Wait, lemme look for him and then you tell me whether he can be No. 3.
We stood around, then I went to get in a few dances. It was quite exhilarating… seeing that I haven’t been out dancing for a few weeks. Also found out that I’ve lost some of my stamina! 
ChrisW : Eh, where’s your No. 3?
Me : *looking to my left* Errr… I dun see him around.
ChrisW : Is that No. 3? *nodding towards Mr. C on my left*
Me : Oh, I didn’t think of him but can also. What do you think?
ChrisW : Hmmmm… ok la, I wouldn’t say that good-looking but can pass.
Me : Yay! We’ve got No. 3!!
The competition began. Then back to social dancing.
Me : Oh oh! There’s my supposed No. 3! What do you think?
ChrisW : Nah, no la.
Me : Really ar? But he’s got an ok body-size. Not scrawny, I dun like scrawny guys.
ChrisW : Yah yah, me too!!
So we continued looking, in between dances.
ChrisW : Actually, I think your No. 3 can masuk the list la.
Me : Huh? Really ar? Are you sure? Oh no, does this mean our standards are jatuh-ing already? Within a span of a few hours?! *gasp!* Is this an indication of the expectations of the general female population in M’sia of men? That over the years, they tend to lower their standards coz they can’t find anyone meeting their criteria?! Wow, and we’ve proven that to be true in accelerated time!
ChrisW : *laughs* Yah, maybe so…
So we ended the night with only 4 on our list of good-looking men at that event.
Now, before anyone shoots me down and accuses me of being superficial, I did mention that (1) we were bored, and (2) we WERE being superficial with our list coz we were solely looking at physical attributes. So dun come at me with a parang and accuse me of being totally shallow! 
Hey, when gals get bored, we are entitled to amuse ourselves 
Men do it too!
I shall let my family and friends tell you about me. These comments may be rather old but I think the gist of them still hold

Charm : I think at one point, I was dancing next to you! I recognized ur pink/black floral dress, hehe… But after that first encounter, didn’t get the chance to catch ur attention
Jay : Alaaa… dun la so fast merajuk. Guys categorize women all the time wat. Some even openly salivate. At least we didn’t, hehe. We were very discrete
Anyway, it’s all in good fun ma 
Plus we had to find something to amuse ourselves with, hehe…
BUT I do know some guys who only dance with the “chun” gals… 
Oh, and I dun choose only the good-looking ones to dance with ok? The dancing and the guy-watching were two separate events
