Dun Want to Protest Can?

June26

Extract from Malaysiakini.com regarding Thierry Rommel’s comments on the NEP:

Malaysia will voice its protest to the European Union over last week’s remarks by the European Commission delegation head in Malaysia Thierry Rommel that the New Economic Policy (NEP) is not favourable to the country’s economy.

Describing Rommel as “offending the feelings of many Malaysians”, Ahmad Shabery confirmed that the Foreign Ministry has called the former to explain his remarks.

I’m not offended and I don’t object his comments. Rommel’s comments on the NEP are nothing new at all. What I’m offended is that the Foreign Ministry is making it sound like the entire Malaysian population is objecting to Rommel’s statement.

Now THAT I object!

Offended by Rommel? The least of it. He is only reminding me of that issue that had been offending us non-Malays for so long now.
