This so-called minister is so ridiculous, it’s terrifying!
I can’t bear to start thinking about how many of this type of buggers are running our country. I might get a heart attack.
This is what I’ve been dabbling in, in recent months.
Making Agar-Agar!!!
I enjoy making them coz they turn out pretty! Yeah, I like seeing the results of my work come into fruition right before my eyes
And yes, I do follow a recipe book for the proportions and I make them straightforward without any customization at the beginning. Only when I’m comfortable with it, then I’ll customize it based on how I want it to be.
Considering making this my side business… hhmmm…

It astounds me how some parents can be so protective over their children over most things…
“Don’t do that!”
“Don’t touch this or else…!”
“No, you can’t go there”
But when it comes to safety in a vehicle (e.g. cars), it’s like their common sense has flown out the window.
There’s been countless times where I have seen young children playing about in a moving car — standing on the car seat, lying on the back dashboard (is that what it’s called?) — and not strapped in securely to the car seat.
And this evening on the way back from class, I saw this minivan, and this little girl of about 6-8 years old, with half her body stuck out of the sunroof! I’m like, hello?! What are the parents or the adults in the vehicle thinking of?! Are they even THINKING?! Can you imagine what would happen if the driver had to pull the emergency brakes or if another vehicle hits the minivan from behind??? The poor kid would go flying out of the sunroof!
Seriously, moving vehicles are dangerous for children who are not strapped in securely to the seats. So please, please strap your young kids securely to the seat when they are in the car.
This past week, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my sis and Sophia, ferrying them around — to the hospital, immigration, dinner, airport – basically, just helping my sis out all I can.
And I’m not complaining. I quite enjoy it, though I’m exhausted now! Now I can imagine what my mom went thru last time when she used to ferry us around — school, piano lessons, ballet lessons, tuition, etc. Gosh, it’s like a full-time job! But since I’m not working now, I’ve told my sis to “use me as much as you want!” coz when I start working, I won’t have this luxury anymore… sigh…
And I’ve become quite attached to the kid now, hehe… I love it when she talks to me, though I still can’t take it when she has her crying spells… so soooo LOUD!!! Adoi! Thank goodness it’s not that often. She’s quite a good baby, methinks. Hehe… but then again, I may be biased coz I’m her aunt
And today, I am sick. My nose is runny and I have a fever
Bleh…
I’ve been so busy that I didn’t even have time to Superpoke people who have Superpoked me!
Seeee!! It’s all “[Someone] [insert Superpoke action] Ai Ling”!!! It used to have “Ai Ling [insert Superpoke action] [Someone]. Now everyone else’s Superpoke has pushed mine down! This is sad!
Hehe…
Merv’s wedding dinner on 13th Oct 2007… one more buddy down the matrimonial road…
Sorry, very grainy pic coz it was taken with my K750…

Decided to do this one last night…

“ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are “good citizens” who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun – especially at family or work-related gatherings.” ~Portrait of an ISTJ (The Personality Page)~
“…characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, “super dependable” would best describe them.” ~The Portrait of an Inspector Guardian (Kiersey)~
Huh! I guess that explains why I get so riled up when anyone (companies I work for, govt, people I know/don’t know) displays any sign of dishonesty and lack of integrity.
What’s yours?
Oh wow… I have been super busy since I stopped work last Wed!
Last Thursday
Joann had a rabbit crisis. She called me up Thursday morning.
Jo : Hey, do you know if anyone would want a rabbit?
Me : Huh? A rabbit? No laaa… why?
Jo : I found a rabbit in the middle of the highway.
Me : WHAT?!!!
Jo : Ya… I saw a brown lump on the divider, I thought it was a dead animal. Then I thought I saw it move so I did a u-turn and went back to take a look. And it was a rabbit! And I think it’s been hit coz it’s nose is bleeding. I took it to my vet, who said it might have a fractured jaw and she recommended that I take it to PAWS.
So, that’s how I ended up going to PAWS with her (I offered, since I had nothing better to do, hehe). The rabbit was surprisingly active at PAWS; it was running here and there and sniffing at this and that. But we had to surrender it (since we both have cats and our cats would turn it into lunch or dinner) and face the risk that it might be put down if its injuries are too severe or if no one wants to adopt it
We had lunch, chatted, then she hung out at my place for a couple of hours till I had to get ready for my Navarathri performance that night.
Did the show and by the time I got home, it was already almost 12am.
Last Friday
Went to get my blood test done. Photocopy IC. Short nap. Went for Odissi practice.
Dinner with sis and the Sams. Went dancing. Got home in the wee hours. Slept.
Last Saturday
Went to pick up the babe from SS2 (he sent his car in to be fixed), then went to Brickfields to buy the stuff that I needed for Vijayadasami… flowers, fruits, betel leaves and nuts, etc. Wow, those jasmine buds are soooo expensive! I don’t know if it’s coz of Deepavali (which is coming soon) or the prices of things have just generally gone up. But man, seriously!
After lunch, attended a demo makeup session at one of the beauty schools. While I was there, it rained and rained like mad! Was so worried that we might have to dance indoors that evening.
After the demo, sent the babe back to SS2 to get his car. Got ready for that night’s performance.
Thank gawd the rain stopped! Performance done, went for dinner. And then had a gala time with some combustible items
Got home in the wee hours again.
Last Sunday
Went for Pilates. Then went shopping for my agar-agar materials at Old Town. I bought more moulds!!! Yay!
Got home and had a short nap before getting ready for Vijayadasami that night.
Of course, it being a Sunday, we had to have our usual gaming session at Mage
Yesterday (Monday)
Went for an interview in the morning. Met Merv for lunch. Then hung out with him till evening. Followed him to run his immigration errands (I waited in the car so he didn’t have to park) then we went to Marmalade to yam cha.
Had dinner with sis and Sophia. And as usual, we had our Monday games session
I suck at Citadels now! *WAIL!*
Today
Slept in a little, to give myself a break, hehe. Then sis called and asked if I could go along with her to take Sophia to the doc coz she was puking more than normal.
We were at the hospital for 2 hours… then went to get groceries for dinner. The babe and sis happily decided that I should cook dinner for them since I had nothing to do.
I shall not comment on this.
I made my first potato salad! Yay! And I only took 2.5 hrs to cook dinner, haha. Tuna pasta, potato salad, and mushroom soup. Everything canned except for the potato salad, hehe. Did I mention that I do NOT like cooking?
And here I am now… at the end of my very hectic post-work 6 days.
Phew! I need a good loooonnng rest!
Got this via email. The message below is from the rescuer.
