Unbearable Itch

November29

So I developed the spots on the 6th day. And man, it was sooooo sooooo unbearably itchy!!!

At first, it was just red and the affected area, somewhat warm. Later, the spots came out with a vengeance!! My hands were so red and hot and throbbing and damn itchy!!! It was so itchy that I couldn’t even sleep!! Talk about agonizing!!

Then the spots started conquering the rest of my arms and feet and legs. I was one spotted, dengued person.

Thankfully, the spots are starting to subside now. Calamine lotion helped a lot. But one strange thing that resulted from either the illness itself or the spots is that my skin is so extremely sensitive now… sensitive in a sense that if I were to accidently scratch myself or rub myself against something coarse/hard, it hurts!! Have to keep reminding myself not to scratch or else I’ll end up in pain. I hope this sensitive skin thing is just temporary.

Eyeballs Hurt

November27

Seriously. It’s not fun. It hurts everytime I move my eyeballs in a different direction.

Plus the spots have started to show up in full force.

Nothing to do but lie in bed and wait for the results.

Sigh…

Helpless

November26

I feel sooo very bad.

I see what’s happening… and it’s been going on forever. It’s like dejavu… watching similar situations replaying themselves over the years. Always the same pattern.

But I dunno how to help. Except to feel bad coz I dunno how to help.

:(

*Think Happy Thoughts*

November26

One of the things I get really irritated about is how them rich folk throw their “weight” around and think everyone else should bow down to them just coz they’re oh-so-filthy-rich.

Bring out them fancy cars and bodyguards and the like, and they think the rest of the world should fall on our knees and worship them. Or be totally intimidated by them.

Well, money dun buy happiness nor respect. And as for intimidation, PTUI!

What goes around, comes around. Ever heard of karma? Go think about it.

GGRRRRR!!! Am so bloody irritated!!

Best Vet Ever

November17

I absolutely adore the vet who takes care of my kitties’ health.

Dr. Vijay of Healing Rooms is the most patient and thorough vet I have ever met. Not even the vets I’ve seen in the States come close to match his passion in caring for his patients’ health.

I took the 2 furballs to get their checkup yesterday evening (the other furball’s turn will be next week since I can’t manage all 3 simultaneously). Once in the examining room, I opened the carrier to let the cats out and Dr. Vijay sits on the floor with his clipboard and their records, and patiently observes the cats’ behavior and movements.

He noticed that Misty had a slight limp in one of her hind legs (which I’d never noticed!) but he assured me that she’s not in any discomfort because she didn’t display any sign of pain.

While examining the cats’ ears, he stuck his finger in their ears and dug out some of the wax, and put it to his nose to smell it (!) coz he explained that if it had a foul smell, that means that there’s something not right in the ears. Gosh, I’d never ever seen a vet so thorough! He does this each time I take them in for their checkup and his dedication to his work in ensuring the health of his patients (imagine sticking an animal’s ear wax to your nose and smelling it!) never fails to amaze me!

Another thing that I like about Dr. Vijay is that he doesn’t recommend medication for every single condition/ailment that my cats have. For example, Nessa’s been having this chronic skin thing, where she would lick herself in her hind quarters till the fur around her rump is sparser than the rest of her body. I wouldn’t call it a problem because Dr. Vijay had done all the tests that he deemed necessary to find out what exactly the problem is but he couldn’t find anything wrong with her. He had given me the option of giving her a hormonal steriod medication to treat the “skin thing” but he also informed me that he doesn’t really recommend it since the “skin thing” doesn’t seem to cause her any discomfort. As long as she isn’t displaying any pain/discomfort, I can just let it be. And also the medication could cause some side effects, which he had seen in some cats though the majority responded to the treatment well. So, I decided not to give Nessa the treatment and opted to monitor her “skin thing” to make sure it doesn’t get worse.

He takes the time to explain to me about my cats’ health and never ever makes me feel like he’s rushing me out of the clinic so that he can attend to other clients, even though his clinic may be full. I can’t say the same for some of the doctors that I go to for my health check!

So yes, if you are looking for a good and capable vet, I most definitely recommend Dr. Vijay of Healing Rooms.

A wise man and 2 clowns

November16

The points that were discussed in the Al-Jazeera interview were the same old things. And I dun understand why the SIL was even present in the interview. He’s so grand meh?

Anyway…

Apparently, according to that Nazri fella, our mainstream newspapers are FREE to report whatever they wanted on the rally last Saturday, in response to the host’s question on the press being more gravitated to the govt’s POV.
Kudos to MIS for reiterating the point that media houses require permits, which are given by the govt (sorry, am not too sure of the terms used). Naturally, in order to keep their permits, they would word their reports to be more pro-govt. MIS also pointed out the fact that we hardly read about opposition initiatives in the mainstream media, reason being the same as the above.

Apparently, according to that Nazri fella, who even quoted some section something of some act (waaaaa, so good memory ar?!), we are NOT ALLOWED to hold rallies or peaceful marches, with reference to last Saturday’s BERSIH rally. Oh wait, those 2 bozos kept referring to the rally/march as a demonstration/protest.
Correction : It was a peaceful march. Go read actual reports from people who were actually there and not in some air-conditioned office paid for by the rakyat.
What is the use of being a democratic country when its people can’t even hold peaceful rallies? If we need to obtain permission for every single thing, obviously THEY are not gonna allow something that THEY deem is anti-govt.

And accordingly to BOTH of the clowns, there is NOTHING wrong with the current system.
Oh, surprise, surprise. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with the system when THEY can get everything and anything THEY want using the current system.

And that Nazri fella, can’t even answer the host’s question. The host asked one thing, he answered another thing. What a dimwit!

Gawd! I can’t believe we have ppl like them running the country! Such a disgrace!

Time to start…

Update #2

The jelly cakes have been delivered! :)

Cake #2 :  This is Layers, with a slight variation of the text design. Decided to make the color green and not put other ornaments so that it looks a bit more macho, coz it’s for Winn’s dad :)
