December4
I went to rescue a cat and got attacked by mossies instead.
And ended up with dengue.
It was actually just a matter of time, since I’m so prone to mossie bites. Like yesterday, we were at Robinson’s. This big fat Aedes mossie landed on my arm and I think (I hope) I smacked it before it sank its big fat stinger into me.
A mossie managed to find me in this huge airconditioned department store. What are the odds?
And HE was laughing very amusedly, because HE was wearing shorts and slippers while I was wearing jeans and no mossies found him.
Bleh…
I hate being mossie bait.
So now I’ve got 2 extra weeks off from work to recuperate.
Oh, if you happen to have a persistent fever (regardless how high/low), just insist on a blood test. I had my fever for 6 days before I got tested because one doc said they only tested on the 5th day and another doc told me I had pimples (when I sprouted the spots on my face). Duh.
So by the time I got the results on the 6th day, I think I was over the worst, which was probably during the 3rd day of the illness.
It is so not fun. Especially the body aches and the nausea and the aching eyeballs. Oh, and the spots!!! Dun even get me started on how bloody itchy they were.
My new best friend is my bottle of insect repellent spray. And I look like a junkie coz for some reason, the lab technician who took my blood didn’t do a good job and I now have bruises on both my inner elbows.
