Comments, Weddings, and Babies…

February28

I’ve just updated my Comments settings. From now on, I need to approve all comments that come in before they can appear here. Coz I’m so fed up with having to delete all those stupid rubbish spam that gets thru!!!! Gah!! And I’ve got no time to go look for a widget (or some other plugin) that will enforce more rules/filters before letting comments come thru…

Sorry, just have to bear with this…

Recently, I seem to be getting bombarded left right center up down with friends who are either getting married or pregnant. Seriously. Gawd, talk about being overwhelmed by all this talk about marriage and weddings and babies! o_O

Of course, these are happy occasions… especially when I’m given the honor of being head bridesmaid maid of honor, hehe. But inevitably, it makes me evaluate my life and its progress as well. Not due to peer pressure, but more like a stock-take of where I am right now and where I could be heading towards (haha, I’m taking inventory of myself!).

Anyway, congratulations to SiowLan and Steph on their upcoming weddings :)
And to Loges and Heman, for their recent nuptials (I danced at their wedding!)…
And to Julia and Led Ye, for the birth of their baby girl last month…
And to Shirley and Eddie, all the way in Buffalo, for the birth of their baby boy (which should’ve happened this month)…
And to Elaine, who’s due to deliver in August…

Lots of things happening this year :)

URGENT! Puppies for Foster/Adoption

February25

Email from the SPCA (the deadline has passed but do give them a call if you’re really interested):

puppies2.jpg
Our Animal Inspector received a call today (Monday, 18th Feb) from a concerned woman who found a mother dog who had given birth to 10 puppies in a small depression in a field. 3 puppies had already died after being hit by passing cars. The 7 remaining pups were hot and panting, and were brought back and placed under SPCA Selangor’s guardianship.

The 1-month-old pups will not survive long in the shelter system where they will be exposed to bacteria and fatal viruses, but they may survive with gentle care and nurturing in your home. If you have experience fostering young puppies, and have a suitable space in your home to foster them for 4-6 weeks, please give us a call within the next 24 hours. As they are young and need to be monitored around the clock and fed every 4-5 hours, we encourage only those with enough time on their hands to take them in. The puppies can be separated into different foster homes, preferably 2 per home.

Please be aware that while there are many success stories for fostered homeless animals, many young kittens and puppies do not survive even with the best care and attention – however they still do deserve a second chance at life. If you are willing to take the chance, please contact us immediately!

For more information, please call 42565312/ 42535179/ 42535312 from 9am-4pm tomorrow (Monday, 19th February) or send an e-mail to pr.spca[at]gmail.com

Of Cars and Miscellaneous Things…

February25

We were driving past a billboard displaying a new Ssangyong SVU/truck…

Me : Hey, the front of that car looks like… what’s that cartoon called? The one with lots of cars?
Him : Uhhh… Cars?
Me : o_O Oh… duh…

That was quite hilarious, I thought. Shows what shape my memory is in! Lol!

It’s been quite a hectic few weeks. What with work and rehearsals for Loges’ wedding and all…

Phew… and now we’ve got to figure out what to do for our annual dinner performance and then get on with rehearsals for THAT! In between work some more! *faints*

SiowLan’s getting married in Dec and she’s asked me to be her bridesmaid!!! A real, official bridesmaid!!! Where I get to wear nice baju and all!!! I’m so excited! Haha!! I think I’m even more excited than she is! Lol!

So I’m gonna go with her to choose her wedding gown. And I’m gonna get a “Bridesmaid To-Do List” too!!

Fyi, this is my very first official bridesmaid appointment (my sis’ doesn’t count coz that’s family) :p

Itinerary for the coming weekends :

  • This weekend : Erica’s b’day dinner
  • Next Monday : SL’s civil marriage (if I can take the day off)
  • Next weekend : My very first election!
  • Weekend after next : Meet up with SL and Steph to go thru our To-Do List for SL’s wedding
  • Thursday after that : Wedding gown selection and fitting for SL
  • Weekend after that : Meet up with my career counselor
  • 2 Fridays after : Annual dinner

After that, I’ll be so pooped that I’ll need a month’s holiday to recuperate! Lol!

Elections are coming

February13

Please do your bit and vote… wisely.

Just coz they suddenly decided to give the FTs a holiday on Thaipusam and are suddenly handing out ‘goodies’, make sure you don’t fall into their trap and think that they’ve suddenly ‘understood’ your situation.

It’s all just a ploy to get your vote.

So… VOTE WISELY! I don’t know how much difference it’ll make but hey, a small dent is better than nothing.

Things like THIS make me fuming mad. If it continues this way, I think I better start looking for a new ‘home’.

Happy CNY!!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai, everyone!! :)

Here’s wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous Year of the Rat!

Oh, I had a very nice compliment this evening. I was told that I’m “very good conversational company”.

That IS something, seeing that I’m usually the one listening rather than talking. Or maybe I’m just good at ‘talking’ on MSN! Lol!

Happy Chinese New Year all!! :)
