Furry Critters

July22

My kats are beside me now. Their warm, furry bodies within arm’s reach is comfort enough.

They don’t judge me, reprimand me, hurt me (unless they unsheath their claws!), nag me, mess with my head, pile on the stress.

They just want a warm place to sleep.

‘zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..’

Making a difference?

July22

I feel very bad for those people who go around the makan places, hawkers, and mamaks, selling their tissues, pens, toys, and other small items. Working where I am right now, I see all sorts of people… selling their wares on the sides of the street and along the LRT stations.

Some of them are old, some disabled but all of them trying to make a some sort of a living, especially in times like this when the prices of everything is so high.

But most people don’t buy their items. Including me. I want to help them. But how? People just wave them rudely away from their tables, or just ignore them. I try to smile and say I’m sorry, I can’t buy but really, I should. Coz 1 or 2 ringgit may not be much to me, but it could mean a meal to these people.

Sigh… I must make a difference somehow. However little.

Practice what you preach…

July16

… on EVERYONE!

and we will make sure that no one is above the law.

So says the Home Minister, on Anwar being arrested by “some 20 balaclava-clad police personnel” in a convoy of 15 police vehicles.

All that for ONE man, mind you.

Funny he should talk about no one being above the law. Why doesn’t the law apply to his people then?

Seriously, with all this drama and all the things that they are doing, all they’re showing is how double-standard they are, how incompetent they are, and how they use intimidation to instil fear in people.

The Debate

July15

IMO, Anwar was definitely the better speaker. At least he presented facts and figures, and kept his cool when he was attacked personally.

The Cheek fella only knew how to go off tangent and insult the panelist and especially Anwar. Didn’t he know that the purpose of a debate is to discuss the given topic and not to personally attack the other speaker? Duh! Bodoh!

And there was one panelist who, when it was his turn to pose a question to Cheek, the question he asked was “Why did Anwar choose to focus on reducing fuel price and not, say, reduce taxes to reduce the people’s burdens?” Uh, hello?! Why are you asking someone else to explain the reason of Anwar’s chosen agenda? Anwar’s right there! Ask him directly la! At least, ask a pertinent question la! Only got 1 hour to debate la, but ask stupid questions some more! OMG! I tell you! The quality of the panelists and Information Minister is so dismal, so shameful! I’m so embarrassed for them and for the country!

I’m not a fan of any of the speakers and I’m not sure if I agree with Anwar’s agenda. But just judging from the way each speaker answered the questions posed, Anwar was the more eloquent speaker. By far. The Cheek fella was just a fly on the wall.
