Men like to talk, not listen?
I have observed, through professional but mostly social settings, that men in general, do not want to hear others talk. They just want to hear themselves talk and they like to talk about themselves.
From being a naive person who was willing to share some stories of myself with male friends and acquaintances (naturally, the amount of detail dependent on how well I know the person), I have resorted to not sharing anything at all with these male friends/acquaintences based on the passive reaction I received when I did.
Except for a few of male friends who genuinely care about me and actually appreciate what I have to say, rest just enjoy talking about themselves. Coz the few times when I did contribute my stories, you could literally see their eyes glaze over.
So it has come to a point where now, unless the guy is a good friend, I don’t even bother sharing anything about myself, say, personal experience on the topic that they are talkng about.
Thus reinforcing the age-old complaint by women that men don’t listen.
