Anticipated Serendipity

Lesson learnt

July31

Never ever trust anyone.

Just when I started to have a sliver of faith in humanity again, I got sabo-ed by the client. Which resulted in this person’s boss getting onto my boss’ case.

Thank gawd my boss was nice enough not to get on my case about it but still, he took the flack on my behalf so it bugs me because it made me look bad.

In hindsight, it was my fault for not covering my back well enough. But because I’ve been dealing with this person on various things for some time, I thought we had an understanding. Apparently not. So much for fostering client relationship. And for this stunt, this person’s credibility, in my books, just went to zilch. Z-E-R-O.

Biatch.

And, pray tell me, how the hell am I supposed to fit 33 people (and counting) in a space with 19 workstations, where the size of each table is at most 3 feet wide? First, they not only make us work like dogs, and now they can’t even give us proper workstations and expect us to cram 33 ppl (and counting) into such a small space!

Bloody morons!

~~~~~
I am very incensed today.
Why I would become vegetarian
July30
I can accept people’s need for meat in their diets.
But I cannot accept the torture of animals before killing them just for some so-called delicacy. Even though it is part of some culture to have that type of meat.
Nothing justifies the cruelty the animals have to go through.
Of Belches and Farts
July28
I think snoring or expelling gas while asleep is not a big deal because you’re asleep and not fully aware (or not aware at all) of what’s happening, thus unable to fully control these actions.
It’s the indiscriminate belching and farting while consciously awake that I find disconcerting because they are bodily functions that, although necessary, need not be announced to anyone and everyone within your vicinity.
It is such a turn-off, not to mention unrefined and rude, when one of your dinner mates lets out a humongous belch or when you’re enjoying a nice cup of coffee, you hear someone from the next table let’s out a long smelly fart.
Although I understand that in certain cultures, belching publicly is a sign that you enjoy the food that your host has served.
But I would prefer that we all keep our burps and farts to ourselves.
What a year…
July28
The year, so far, has not been a very good one overall.
I keep hearing of deaths… of friends’ loved ones… and of some amazing people who have made or are making great changes to our world.
Sigh…
Sad :(
How wonderful people are
July26
Why do people do things like :
  • Say one thing and do another i.e. not practicing what they preach
  • Make an appointment with you because they want to get out of another undesired engagement
  • Make things smell like roses but in reality, they stink like shit
  • Portray sincerity while the things that come out of their mouths are anything but
  • Teach their kids to be dishonest and manipulative, and to jump queues
  • Be greedy and try to grab everything that comes their way
Hmm… what wonderful creatures humans are…
Another star gone…
July26
Yasmin Ahmad, our local critically-acclaimed multi-award winning film director, writer, and scripwriter has passed away.
Her television commercials and films are well-known in Malaysia for their humour, heart and love that crosses cross-cultural barriers.
Sadly, she was more recognized and appreciated internationally, rather than by her own country.
Good people like these don’t live long enough :(
Rest in peace.
Cannot tahan!!!
July22
There are a lot of “people habits” that I cannot stand. And I mean A LOT.
Spitting and blowing one’s nose and discarding one’s snot in public are one the major ones.
This afternoon we were at lunch. The table at which we were sitting was outside the shop along the walkway (you know how it is with these small shops). There was a bunch of men were smoking and talking on the side and one of them just spits onto the road! WTF, man! You think you own the road?! Even if you do, don’t you know it is not only rude but totally unhygienic to spit in public?! Your father/mother never taught you that you shouldn’t spit in public, is it? Even if you spit in the drain, even if there is no one around, the act of spitting in public itself is rude and unacceptable! And these people are working professionals!! But you know what, with that type of behavior, no amount of professionalism can save your sorry arse, civic-minded-wise. This is a classic case of kurang ajar and selfishness.
Another disgusting behavior I’ve seen is men who would just pinch their noses and discard their snot either on the ground or into a drain. What’s up with this, man?! If you’re not malu for actually doing this sort of thing, I’m malu on your behalf! Like spitting, it’s unhygienic and c’mon! It’s your own body fluids. Get rid of it discreetly and properly la! Sheesssh!
Another major blood-boiler for me are people who throw rubbish out of their cars. And worse still, there are children in the car!!! What sort of bloody example are you setting for your kids, morons?!! Gawd, I just feel like whacking them left right center up down when I see this happen right in front of my eyes while driving. GRAAAARRRRR!!!
One more thing that pisses me off to no end are people who don’t seem to understand the concept of queueing. Pray tell me, what is so complicated about queueing up?? What makes you think that you are so important above everyone else that you have the right to jump in front of someone else in the queue? I don’t care if you are a mere mortal or some royalty or some other high ranking or titled person. You are human too right? So get back into the bloody queue!
Heck, am I only the one who thinks that things like these are just plain common sense and basic manners?!! Gawd, sometimes I feel like I’m living amongst a bunch of barbarians!
*whack smack punch kick smash!*
1Malaysia, my foot
July13
This whole 1Malaysia concept, concocted by our brilliant PeeAm, is such a whole load of bull.
I keep seeing this word “1Malaysia” everywhere and all it makes me think about is the current trend of the naming convention of buildings in town : OneMenerung, One Bangsar, One Mont Kiara… One This, One That.
This is what the country has come to. A concept that merely follows a supposedly “hip and cool” naming convention without any substance.
What a load of bullcrap! Gah!
Not roses
July7
Things are not as great as it seems in the land of our neighbor. Another one here.
I guess only the expats have it good there.
