Looking young
On a recent trip to Singapore, Sophie’s (my fave niece) friend’s mom thought I was still a student and another mom guesstimated that I was in my mid-20s.
It was really quite flattering, given the fact that I was just a days shy of my 31st birthday
But in all honesty, I think my sis and I have to thank my parents’ good genes for looking younger than we actually are because looking at my parents now, I wouldn’t think that they are 63 and 68 respectively if I didn’t know them.
I have friends who constantly remark that my mom looks young and personally, I think my dad doesn’t look almost 70 at all!
Their youthful looks are also enhanced by their religious exercise and detox routines, which I greatly admire because I myself don’t have the discipline to keep up that sort of routine although I readily admit that dancing once a week does contribute to my keeping in shape and I guess, indirectly to looking youthful. One only needs to take a look at my dance guru, Ramli Ibrahim, to see the benefits of regular exercise (in his case, dance) because he does not look like he’s in his late 50s at all. When I first met him 8 years ago, I thought he was in his mid-30s!
So yes, exercising, eating well and living well play a major role in looking great but I do think your genes play a part too.
Let’s see how long people will still keep asking me if I’m a student

er, your fave niece? she’s your only niece la!
I know
Hey what kind of detox routines your mum does? I really want to know. She definitely is reaping the benefits and does not look a day over 40!
She does coffee enema
I can’t bring myself to do it coz I get grossed out but she and my dad do it a few times a week. And they eat lots of fruits and veggies, not so much meat.
Oh, my mom’s 63 this year
