My girlfriend’s boyfriend looks like Michael Vartan Seriously!

Some of his movies/TV shows are Never Been Kissed, Alias, Monster-In-Law.

It was the year we turned 18.

Steph, Jo and I decided to take a trip to Malacca by ourselves, by bus. And not one of those express buses that went directly to Malacca, mind you. We took the normal Cityliner bus from Kajang to Seremban and changed to another bus that took us to Malacca town.

From the bus stand, we walked a bit to look for a place to stay and we ended up at this rather dodgy-looking but clean motel (years later, someone told us that we stayed in the red light district?!).

We did the usual touristy stuff… visit the Stadthuys, eat and eat and eat, and all that. We even caught a midnight movie at one of those old-style cinemas (it was a Mr Bean movie) and we ended up almost getting locked out of our motel!

So anyway, the highlight of this trip, which gets relayed to everyone (even till now, almost 12 yrs later!), was how we found and gave up RM250.

So we were walking around, minding our own business, when we stumbled upon a stack of notes on the ground. Naturally, we picked it up and counted the stash of money. There was RM250! Holy shit! Being 18 and penniless (sort of), that was a huge ton of money! Jo and Steph had big plans on how to spend the cash but of course, I had to be the party pooper (according to them, heh).

I adamantly refused to take the money and suggested taking it to the police station. This was when I was young and foolish and didn’t know that the cops were such corrupted buggers. We learnt in Moral studies ma… if we find something that doesn’t belong to us, surrender it to the police. So anyway, thankfully the other 2 were much smarter than me in this respect and objected profusely to surendering it the cops. So then, we happened to pass by St. Paul’s Cathedral (or some other really old church) and we went in. Then one of us had the bright idea to put the money in the collection box.

This is the part where Jo and Steph would tell people, “You know, people usually put 1 or 2 bucks in the collection box to get the church bulletin, but we put in 250 bucks!!” Then Jo would add “Ya, and I was sooooooo sakit hati to push the stack of notes into the slot and all the while thinking, I could buy that Converse shoes, blah blah blah…”

So yes, perhaps I’m a goody-two-shoes… but hey, I gave all of us good karma for that good deed k!

This is like the “Ai Ling Initiation” story to people who first meet me, when I hang out with my school buddies. I think everyone I’ve met thru them thus far has been told this story. So much so that these days, I volunteer the story to be told! Get it over and done with, see

I wonder how long will its shelf life be…… hmmmm…..

My dear friend is thinking of getting me a portable heater (is there such a thing?!) for Xmas since I keep complaining that I’m freezing in the office.

Awww… how sweet is that?!

Ed and I were waiting outside Zhern/SenanC’s room, waiting for one of them to let us in coz it was free-and-easy time and we were just gonna chill out.

Ed suddenly grabs my wrist and starts swinging my arm around.

Me : Oi! What do you think you’re doing?!
Ed : I’m just checking to see how much flab you have under your arm.
Me : Excuse me! *indignantly* I have plenty of muscle, ok?! *flexing my bicep*
Ed : *pokes at my bicep* Woooow! You do have muscle!! *in awe*
Me : Yah, poke some more and I’ll flatten you in 5 seconds *sticks out tongue*

Sometimes, it’s quite liberating to behave like a kid when you’re around boys

Congrats to Elaine and hubby, with the arrival of their baby, Isaac!!!

And also to Sam, who’s getting married next weekend!! Woo hoooo!!! We’ll be missing her at BUM SenanC says she’s been really bubbly-fied at work these few weeks, hehe… am gonna miss this bunch when I move on.

Hahaha!! I won again!!! 3 times in a row!!! And we gals kicked the guys butts!! Heheh

I won again in Colosseum last nite!!!! Wheeeeee!!! I guess I can’t claim it’s just beginner’s luck anymore, hehe… I won twice in a row!! Haha!

So here’s our games repertoire thus far… and increasing from time to time…

• Ticket to Ride (Europe) – my very first boardgame with the Gaming Gang
• Pirates’ Cove – was my fave game since it didn’t require much thinking, mostly luck
• Railroad Tycoon – I was the richest on one occasion 
• Power Grid – never won this game. I think I’ve managed to be consistent being 2nd last but never last, haha!
• Hasta Bock (this is the German version. English version is called Sheer Panic) – this is the cutest game, with sheep tokens
• Heck Meck – another cute game, to do with grilled worms. Purely luck!
• Manila – HE almost always won this game
• Citadels – One of my favorite games… it’s one of the very few that I actually win!
• Hoity Toity – this also I like… coz I can win in it, hehe
• Settlers of Cataan – have never won this game yet
• Antike – This is NOT my favorite game coz there’re too many things to keep track of!
• Clippers – won this the first time we played… but didn’t manage to maintain the lead after
• Colosseum – this is the coolest game thus far… awesome detailing and cool tokens

… and a few others that we seldom play so I forget their names.

It took me about 2 hours to make that jelly cake. And I was so worried about whether it would turn out ok coz it was the first time I’m trying this design i.e. with the words.

It was pure satisfaction when I removed it from the mould and saw that it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to be! HE was the witness to my euphoric state immediately after… I was raving about the cake and stupidly giggly, haha…
