Go Local

April6

There should be a rule/regulation that requires all Msian politicans/ministers to send their children to public schools and local universities since they keep claiming that we have such high standards in education. And to buy Msian products and use Msian services whenever and wherever possible, and fine/punish them if they don’t. Our hard-earned taxes are being used to pay their salaries (and luxuries), right?

Because I realized that even the PM’s kids are studying and living abroad in the US (or UK. One of those countries la). WTH?! And remember the whole fleet of Mercedes’ that were purchased for some govt dept? What’s wrong with your beloved Proton vehicle? Oh, and remember how the ex-ex-PM went to the US to get medical treatment for his heart condition (or some ailment) and then the ex-PM’s wife also went to the US to get medical treatment for her cancer?

Should lead by example instead of preaching to us to go local but then you send your brats overseas, drive a Merc or a Beemer, and don’t trust your own doctors enough to treat you, right?

Just shows how much faith they have in their own system and their products/services.

Please register to vote!

Taken from http://www.dosomethingepictoday.blogspot.com/

According to the Election Commission (EC) Deputy Chairman, Wan Ahmad Wan Omar in a report dated in January 2010, 4.39 million or some 28% of Malaysians over the age of 21 have yet to register as a voter. These are alarming statistics which we believe we have to do something about. To put things into perspective, the state of Selangor itself has an estimated 787,000 unregistered voters.

The decisions we make today shape our tomorrow, individually as a community, and ultimately as a nation. That is why we are beginning another EPIC movement we call EPIC for Unity.

Dear Extraordinary Bloggers, cyber pals and friends,

I write to let you know that Voice your Choice is starting this weekend in Klang Valley. We are going to be at 3 locations from 10am – 10pm on the 3rd and 4th of April.

1. Subang Parade
2. Amcorp Mall
3. Cineleisure, Kota Damansara

We will be at these 3 locations all weekend for voters registration.

We need your assistance to draw people out from their houses to actively come to register. We know this is not a norm but we hope to achieve that with your influence over the people that you lead through your blogs. This adventure of ours is truly extraordinary as we aim to hit an epic target of 2 million voters registered by the end of this year. Never has there been such an aim yet we are not backing out or doubting the people of Malaysia. This is because the only reason we are doing this is because we strongly believe that our people wants to be counted significant in making a difference in their community and country. The reason why there has not been action is because most people are paralysed by the fear of being alone.

Therefore if all of you join us to start this of in cyber space where we are blessed with this freedom, we are very sure, others on the ground will follow suit. Let us do this in unison with the belief that our fellow brother or sister shares the same believe that we strongly believe all of you have. That is that our tiny action however insignificant it may feel will collectively come together to make an amazing impact that will ultimately shape our future.

We plead and urge you that you not let our dream die but share it with us because we know that this dream will become a reality if more people believe in it. Please over this next 5 days write something in regards to this event on the 3rd and 4th of April. Also pls fly our e-badge as a sign of support. Our hope is that all Malaysian blogs and websites will fly this throughout this year. Attached is the e-badge & a simple guide on how to place the e-badge on Blogspot. I seek your support in sending this to your other bloggers who would support us in this movement. We need all the help we can get.

Stop it already!!

Haha! The PM trying to do damage control.

Yeah right… who is dumb enough to believe this crap?

~~~~~
Aaaarrrggghhh!!!!
I am so sick of the  ”Malay rights this, Malay rights that” topic! It’s all I read about in the news!
Can we just stop it with the race thing and live as Malaysians once and for all??? To think that after all this time, we have not learnt from past mistakes and our thinking has not progressed past the “I am of X race therefore I am entitled to my rights and privileges, and NO ONE can question it” is just plain sad and pathetic. I now understand why some friends willingly choose to migrate to other countries and live as 2nd class citizens there. I feel like a 2nd (or 3rd) class citizen in my own country where I contribute my share of taxes and to the growth of the country.
We can just forget about achieving anything of significance as a country if we can’t even resolve this race thing and live and act as MALAYSIANS.
Our line of so-called leaders needs some serious overhauling or someone to smack their heads together to knock some sense into them. Most importantly, they need to wear the MALAYSIA hat (i.e. think for the good of the people and country, and not about themselves or their own race or their own agenda). But then again, I doubt if any of these people have that level of maturity in their thinking at all.
This pathetic excuse of a DPM is a classic example of the shallowness of their level of thinking. It is so infuriating that sometimes I feel like crying in despair.
How laaaaaaa like this??!!!!! :(
Eat dogs to keep stray population in check?
March18
Just when you think that govt officials have reached an all-time high in their level of stupidity, here’s comes another one, taken off the March SPCA newsletter :
PETALING JAYA (March 7, 2010): People with a penchant for exotic meat should be allowed to buy dogs from dog pounds for consumption, Veterinary Services Department (VSD) deputy director general Dr Ahmad Suhaimi Omar says.
Ahmad Suhaimi, who made the suggestion at a forum on effective animal pound management organised by the Petaling Jaya City Council’s Canine Advisory Team last week, said people who have no qualms about eating dog meat should be allowed to eat dogs kept in pounds.
“Do we have to keep the dogs at the pounds forever?” he asked. “They are animals, just like chickens or goats,” he added. He said consuming dogs kept in pounds will help to check the number of strays at the pounds and help address any unmanageable increase of strays.
*shakes head in disbelief*
Better dun make PM angry…
February23
I dunno whether to laugh or be appalled after reading this. Excerpts below :
“I always tell others not to underestimate Datuk Najib. He is not easily angered but do not provoke him. If he is angry, there is no forgiveness for you.
“Datuk does not say much but he would register in his mind what is happening around him. If I make a mistake, he will reprimand me. If he stamps his feet, I will shudder.
Does she even realize what type of picture she is painting of him?
Hahahahah! This is just too funny!
Huh?
One of the headlines on Mkini :
“Ministry to organise global meet on caning” – The  Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will organise an international conference on caning as a sentence, says minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Excerpts from the piece (my comments in bold) :
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, through the Secretariat of Advocacy and Empowerment of Muslim Women, will organise an international conference on the sentence of caning , said minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.She said the conference will discuss the sentence often imposed in Muslim countries.
“The ministry hopes that through the conference, which will be attended by ministers and experts, we can make a comparative study whether the sentence is normally practised among Muslim countries,” she told reporters.
“We can share ideas and practices and gain in-depth knowledge on how each country views the caning sentence,” she said.
Wow, there’s so much to learn about caning
“We hope that through the memorandum, we can exchange best practices and share experiences,” she added.
Woo hooo… caning also got best practice
But guess what? Oman has no provisions for the caning sentence either under Syariah or civil law. (Note : Oman is one of the countries to whom an invitation has been extended to send a speaker)
Seriously, I think these people really have nothing better to do. What a waste of our tax money. Is it that difficult to decide if caning is good or bad in this time and age?
Dumdums.
Sign of Immaturity
September8
The Home Minister said, in defence of the cow-head incident :
“I have it in my records to show there were cases where a pig-head was used by irresponsible parties including leaving the head in front of an Umno building covered by an Umno flag,” he said in a press conference after coming out of a dialogue session with leaders of the committee who organised the protest but offered no further details of such an act.
I don’t even understand what is the purpose of the pig-head remark. So just because of the pig-head incident (I don’t remember reading about it in the news), it’s ok for those hooligans to pull the cow-head stunt, is it?
What is wrong with people? Who ever said that 2 wrongs make a right? Let’s not even talk about something that is blatantly wrong. Just because someone does something that is not right in your eyes/opinion, doesn’t mean that it is ok for you to pull a ‘tit for tat’. That just shows your immaturity in handling these situations. Exactly like how those knuckleheads behaved in the recent dialogue on the temple issue in Shah Alam.
Grow up, will you!
So MCMC thinks it’s offensive, huh?
Headlines now on Mkini :
MCM tells Malaysiakini: Take down videos
2009-09-04 13:42:55 Sep 4, 09 1:42PM
The commission which overseas online contents in the country wants Malaysiakini to remove two video related to the cow-head protest as they are deemed to be provocative and offensive.
So the MCMC thinks that the cow-head protest is offensive? And what did the moron of a Home Minister do? Support these barbarians. What happened to these morons? NOTHING.
What a laughingstock. I hope Mkini keeps the videos up for the entire world to see what idiots we have leading the country.
Full of crap
September2
This moron is just full of bullcrap. Excerpt taken from Mkini.
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said those involved in the ‘cow-head’ protest in Shah Alam last week cannot be blamed for the controversy.
Speaking after an hour-long closed-door meeting with residents’ representatives at his office in Putrajaya, he said the protesters “had no intention at all to bring the cow’s head and invoke racial sentiments or cause tension”.
“They are not going (to be let off) scot-free. But they just feel victimised because they feel there is another valid explanation and had no intention to cause racial (divisions),” he said.
Section 23 residents had mounted the protest against the proposed relocation of the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu temple from Section 19 to their neighbourhood.
Hishammuddin said he was told that the “residents did not know the organisers and did not know a cow’s head would be brought during the demonstration”.
“When we sat and discussed this, they (said they) realised that they were in a situation they could not control.”
He further defended the protesters, saying that “they just wanted their voices to be heard”.
Oh, so when peaceful citizens participate in a peaceful rally, they just want their voices to be heard too. Then why the need for water cannons and tear gas and such?
They are not going to be let off scot-free? HAH! I’m just waiting to see what’s going to be done to them. Probably just give them a ‘warning’ not to do it again. Yeah, talk about double standards!
They felt VICTIMISED?! *speechless* How does the relocation of a temple to their area make them victimised?
Gawd, every time these so-called ‘leaders’ open their mouths, they spew out garbage. They should talk some more and show the people how so very ‘bright’ they are and how blatantly double standards are being practiced in our country.
Talk some more, dude!
1Malaysia, my foot
July13
This whole 1Malaysia concept, concocted by our brilliant PeeAm, is such a whole load of bull.
I keep seeing this word “1Malaysia” everywhere and all it makes me think about is the current trend of the naming convention of buildings in town : OneMenerung, One Bangsar, One Mont Kiara… One This, One That.
This is what the country has come to. A concept that merely follows a supposedly “hip and cool” naming convention without any substance.
What a load of bullcrap! Gah!
