The govt can’t pay for medical treatment at GH?!

April9

More proof that the administration of this country is going down the drain.

Mich’s mother had a health scare last week, when she woke up and one of her arms couldn’t move. Mich was suspecting a heart attack so her mother went to IJN to get a checkup. After getting a general checkup and being prescribed some meds, Auntie asked to get further tests. But the admin person told her she needed to put down RM5,000 for the tests. Auntie was shocked at the amount, so she went to GH to get another checkup. The doc she saw told her no, you only need to put on RM2,000. Auntie went back to IJN and told them what the doc said but the admin person said no, it’s RM5,000. And Auntie needed to get a referral letter as well.

Auntie’s regular doc was in GH Penang (they’re from Penang) so she went back to Penang to try to see her doc to get the referral letter. But the clerk manning the appointment desk refused to let her see the doc because this person knew that Auntie was trying to get a referral letter. And she even had the nerve to tell Auntie “The govt can’t pay for things like this”. Auntie was so upset because she’s a firm believer in govt hospitals and to have that said to her face was like a big slap.

In the end, Mich’s brother (he’s in Canada) had to get his father-in-law (in Msia) to help out (not sure how but I guess the FIL has some connections) and this 70-year-old man with osteoarthritis had to wait at the hospital with Mich’s mother in order to see a cardiologist and managed to get an appointment for further tests in May.

I was infuriated when Mich related this story to me because first and foremost, GH is a govt hospital and ANYONE should be able to see a doctor at GH. Secondly, we pay taxes to maintain these hospitals so WTH do they mean “The govt can’t pay” for it?!!

So now it is even more obvious that our taxes are (1) going into someone’s bulging pockets, and (2) being used to fund useless projects, instead of being channeled to where they are needed the most. Or worse, they are being blatantly discriminating in the the patients they choose to treat.

Stop it already!!

Haha! The PM trying to do damage control.

Yeah right… who is dumb enough to believe this crap?

~~~~~
Aaaarrrggghhh!!!!
I am so sick of the  ”Malay rights this, Malay rights that” topic! It’s all I read about in the news!
Can we just stop it with the race thing and live as Malaysians once and for all??? To think that after all this time, we have not learnt from past mistakes and our thinking has not progressed past the “I am of X race therefore I am entitled to my rights and privileges, and NO ONE can question it” is just plain sad and pathetic. I now understand why some friends willingly choose to migrate to other countries and live as 2nd class citizens there. I feel like a 2nd (or 3rd) class citizen in my own country where I contribute my share of taxes and to the growth of the country.
We can just forget about achieving anything of significance as a country if we can’t even resolve this race thing and live and act as MALAYSIANS.
Our line of so-called leaders needs some serious overhauling or someone to smack their heads together to knock some sense into them. Most importantly, they need to wear the MALAYSIA hat (i.e. think for the good of the people and country, and not about themselves or their own race or their own agenda). But then again, I doubt if any of these people have that level of maturity in their thinking at all.
This pathetic excuse of a DPM is a classic example of the shallowness of their level of thinking. It is so infuriating that sometimes I feel like crying in despair.
How laaaaaaa like this??!!!!! :(
Monsters
March25
I agree. Damn people got no heart nor soul.
Can we do the same to them?
March18
I wish I could do the same thing that these monsters did to this poor defenceless dog, to them. I’m sure they would enjoy it.
Do you know who I am?
December11
My mom forwarded this to me. It’s very funny, lol!
I suppose everyone of you must have boarded a plane before. Ever encounter any proud and arrogant joker like some sort of “Datuk” or “Tan Sri” shouting at the top of his voice at the check-in counter? Read this one. Very interesting……..especially the last bit ……
THIS SHOULD APPLY TO EVERY AIRLINE DESK ANYWHERE IN MALAYSIA – WHERE EVERYONE HAS SEEN THE “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM” ASSHOLEs everywhere: airports, restaurants, traffic lights……
An award should go to the desk attendant in Sydney some months ago for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.
A crowded Virgin flight was cancelled after Virgin’s 767s had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was rebooking a long line of inconvenienced travellers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, ‘I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS’. The attendant replied, ‘I’m sorry, sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but I’ve got to help these people first, and I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.’
The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, ‘DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?’ Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: ‘May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please,’ she began – her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal.
‘We have a passenger here at Desk 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Desk 14.’ With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, ‘F.. You!’ Without flinching, she smiled and said, (I love this bit) ‘I’m sorry, sir, but you’ll have to get in line for that too.
LOL! :D
Some men are such morons!
December2
So yesterday, I was involved in a minor fender bender.
I was trying to back my car into a parking lot at Two Square when this Myvi showed up on my left hand side and I didn’t see him so I scraped his driver’s side door. Frankly, after thinking about it, I don’t know whose fault it was but at that point, I claimed responsibility. Here’s the damage to his car :
picture1.jpg
So ok, I said I will check my mechanic and see how much it costs to fix. While doing so, he called and said he went to the Perodua workshop and they quoted him RM750 to fix. I was like “What?!” No way! (Note :  Any moron would know that if you go to the car maker’s workshop, they would charge you an arm and a leg). So I said I’ll check with my mechanic first. So went to check with 2 different mechanics, the lowest quote was RM250, including spray painting the entire door. This mechanic can fix it in a day. And he is a friend’s mechanic in Damansara Utama, not some capalang mechanic in gawd-knows-where.
So I called the fella (I’ll call him Moron. You’ll see why later.) and told him, my mechanic can do it in a day for less than RM300. THEN he started hemming and hawing… “I need to go to work. How am I going to go to work if my car is in the workshop… I want to check with my mechanic first because your mechanic might not be up to my standard.”
At this point, I was starting to get annoyed coz hallo?! First of all, shit happens so just deal with it! Even if you send your stupid car to Perodua, you still have to get to work, right? Get a cab or something! You call yourself a man?! Can’t even take public transport on your own, issit? Some more, you are 34 freaking years old! (We took down each other’s MyKad details). Secondly, I have done the work by looking around different mechanics to get different quotes. My mechanic said he’ll spray paint your freaking door! You want to change a whole entire new door, issit?! For such a small thing?? Thirdly, you are driving a Myvi, not a Porshe. What standard are you looking at?!
So anyway, he said he will check with his friend and get back to me. Later in the evening, he sms-ed and gave me a proposal : RM400 to close the whole thing. I sms-ed back : Thank you for your reply. I have checked with several mechanics and the prices they quoted was maximum RM300, some even lower. So that is the actual cost of your repair. I am willing to offer you RM350, final offer to close this. He replied “Ok, let’s do this the official way then.”
So that’s how I spent half a day today, running around making the police report. Actually, I don’t mind the reporting because what I can’t stand is the guy trying to fleece me off for more money than the repair is worth. THAT I cannot stand. So never mind, a bit of hassle for me is ok. If this Moron thinks I will get scared and just give him the money to settle it, he can bloody well think again. Now, it’s not the matter of money; it’s about principles. I already offered him 100 bucks more than what his repair is worth. If he is truly honest, then he would have accepted it. But since he wants to be unscrupulous, he can go deal with the insurance.
I really hope the insurance people give him a difficult time trying to make a claim for this tiny damage.
Note : The cops didn’t issue me a summons because the accident occurred within a building, not public area. Whee! When the cop was examining my car to take a photo of the damage to my car, he said “It saja ke? Orang tu mahu report?” (No damage to my car, just a scratch on the bumper coz I was backing in quite slowly when it happened). I was half expecting him to start laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.
Being well-known doesn’t give one the right to treat people like crap
November3
Earlier this year, we won a lucky draw prize at one of the weddings fairs we attended, entitling us to a free pre-wedding photography service from one of the supposedly well-known photography studios in town.
I guess we should’ve seen the signs at the beginning. Which genuine free voucher have you seen that doesn’t contain a list of T&Cs and at the very least, the contact details of the vendor providing the voucher? The only thing it stated on the voucher was that we were entitled to a free pre-wedding photography session, under the artistic direction of the photographer and we would get 20 softcopies of the photos.
So anyway, fast forward to last month. First, Babe had to go around looking for the studio’s contact no. Then, he tried to contact the photog studio but no answer. Tried a few times, still no answer. Then he managed to get the mobile no. of the photog. Then followed up with an email. And then, that’s when this hotshot photog started stating the T&Cs, adding one each time we sent a reply.
First, when we gave him the dates when we were free. Naturally, they were all weekend dates since we both have day jobs. Mr. Hotshot Photog came back to say that the voucher is only valid for weekday shoots.
Fine. We were gonna check out the venue on a Monday so why not have them come and shoot at the same time? We’ll just do a casual shoot in our casual clothes. But no. Mr. Hotshot Photog replied that it was too short notice (it was about 1.5 weeks before) and that it has to be a proper shoot with wedding gown and the works.
At this point, I was like “WTF?!” If you have all these terms and conditions, then state it in black and white on the voucher, up-front, so people will know and decide if it’s worth the trouble to get your free service! Just stating “under the photographer’s artistic direction” is like saying “oh, I have a solution” to a problem. What solution to which problem, we don’t know.
This is why I prefer not to go with these so-called well-known service providers. Their product might turn out good but their service sucks big time. I don’t understand how they work. Just because they make it big, they think it gives them the right to act like morons?
Even my boss, who used Mr. Hotshot Photog’s services for his wedding doesn’t recommend him because he is too well-known, although his photos turned out fine. Boss had a friend who also booked Mr. Hotshot Photog’s services for his wedding and Mr. Hotshot Photog himself was supposed to shoot Boss’ friend’s wedding. But 2 weeks before the wedding, Mr. Hotshot Photog informed that he has another engagement and will be sending another photog instead.
OMG! Where are their principles?! Do keeping your word and integrity mean nothing these days?!
So my policy from now on is, I don’t care if you’re the grandmaster of your field. If you can’t be a decent person and treat people with respect and HONOR your promises, then you are NOT having my business. Pay me also I don’t want to use you because then I’d have to put up with your shitty attitude.
Sign of Immaturity
September8
The Home Minister said, in defence of the cow-head incident :
“I have it in my records to show there were cases where a pig-head was used by irresponsible parties including leaving the head in front of an Umno building covered by an Umno flag,” he said in a press conference after coming out of a dialogue session with leaders of the committee who organised the protest but offered no further details of such an act.
I don’t even understand what is the purpose of the pig-head remark. So just because of the pig-head incident (I don’t remember reading about it in the news), it’s ok for those hooligans to pull the cow-head stunt, is it?
What is wrong with people? Who ever said that 2 wrongs make a right? Let’s not even talk about something that is blatantly wrong. Just because someone does something that is not right in your eyes/opinion, doesn’t mean that it is ok for you to pull a ‘tit for tat’. That just shows your immaturity in handling these situations. Exactly like how those knuckleheads behaved in the recent dialogue on the temple issue in Shah Alam.
Grow up, will you!
What about Vick’s victims?
September2
What kind of sick individual does something like this?
“…trained pit bulls for death matches in which spectators bet on the outcome…”
“…dogs that didn’t show enough fighting spirit, or that lost matches, were put to death by a variety of methods, including shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution.”
Full report here.
A letter on this by Best Friends Animal Society co-founder, Francis Battista, in The Philadelphia Enquirer here.
Twenty-two dogs in various states of trauma were rescued.
“Vick personally drowned, electrocuted with jumper cables, and body-slammed dogs to death, when he could have paid a veterinarian to put them down with lethal injections. After all, he paid someone to meticulously remove the teeth – roots and all – of Georgia, one of the dogs now at Best Friends, so she could be bred without endangering her male partner.”
“Would someone who expressed that level of aggression and violence against another person, even without a death involved, ever be considered for immediate readmission to professional sports?”
“Animal cruelty is a proven gateway for violent criminals ranging from the Columbine kids to your run-of-the-mill wife-beater.”
While Michael Vick gets on with his life with a mere slap on the wrist, his victims are either dead or have yet to recover from the trauma he inflicted on them.
And this is in the States. Here in Malaysia, the perpetrator gets off scot-free or at most, slapped with a RM200 fine.
Makes my blood boil.
I thought it’s the holy month of Ramadhan
August29
How can these people be allowed to do something like this and not get hauled up for stirring hatred against other religions and insulting another religion?? Where are the cops who won’t hesitate to arrest and beat up people participating in a peaceful rally? Huh?? Huh??? Where are they now???? Not even a bloody squeak from them!!
Talk about being barbaric, stupid, and childish. Oh wait, I take the last bit back. I just insulted children. They behave so much better that these so-called adults.
And I thought it’s supposed to be the holy month of Ramadhan.
This is simply unbelievable. I am infuriated beyond belief.
The point is not about the temple being built. The point is how arrogant these people are and how they reacted in this situation. What kind of example are they setting for their children? Can’t they just sit down and discuss things civilly? Why the violence (severed cow’s head) and insult to another religion (cows being sacred to Hindus).
Get this, the guy had the cheek to say this :
Contacted later, Mahyuddin distanced his organisation from the act of bringing the cow head to the protest.
“It is not our intention. We were surprised,” he said, denying that the act was intended to insult Hindus.
He said that the cow head was likely brought by angry residents.
“Maybe, they meant it (as a symbol of) stupidity. In Malay culture, the cow is a symbol of stupidity, or leaders that are stupid,” he said.
Is he indirectly saying that Hinduism is stupid? You know, if someone did the opposite, say, bringing a severed pig’s head to where they brought the cow’s head, it would be absolutely catastrophical and everyone would be calling for the person’s head to be chopped off.
This is so abso-effing-lutely unbelievable. I can’t believe this type of rubbish is happening in my country.
